I need some ink

I met Jay Strange for drinks a week before the move, and we had a great time catching up and shooting the bull.  We hadn't seen each other in some time, so it was good to get back in touch with him.  Seeing him made me long for getting back to work on my tattoos, so expect that to start happening soon.  I'll be posting some of my ideas here as I work through what I want to do where, then I'll post pictures of the finished product (and perhaps some of the artwork from Jay if it seems appropriate).  I have ideas for about a dozen new pieces in specific places, so there's plenty I want done in the future.  Stay tuned for updates.

I’m back on the net

You better sit down for this one…

The DSL is finally up and running, so I should be able to get back to posting regularly now that I have way to update the site other than borrowing from other people.

Some of that film was actually good?

Out of the six rolls of film discovered during the move, two were totally useless (exposure to sunlight or too old or something else).  Four of the rolls had pictures on them, though, and almost all of the pictures came out.  Amazing!  There are pics of The Kids from 1999 through 2003 (the last pictures on the roll that I burned so we could get them developed), so I'll be scanning those and getting them up here as time permits.  There were also pictures from a trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park here in Texas (the trip was in August of 1999) and pictures from my roommate's trips to San Francisco and Washington DC (both also from 1999).  Amazing that we had misplaced all of this film only to rediscover it in 2003.  Also of interest is that I've taken more pics of The Kids and have also taken some pics of myself to post here (that last part may or may not happen depending on the quality of the pics — mainly because I hate having my picture taken and may wait until I have developed more muscle mass before I post body shots).  Anywho, I'll get all of these scanned as quickly as possible so I can post them here.

We don’t need no stinkin’ DSL

Yes, you guessed correctly.  We are still without DSL service at the new crib.  Why?  That's a very good question which cannot be answered by the telephone company.  No surprise, really, since this is how it works in the digital age (computers made things faster, technology enabled greater products and services, and customer service went right down the drain).  Our "infinite service" provider tells me it will now be next week before the DSL is hooked up.  It seems that they waited an extra eight days before terminating the old account in order to move it to the new location (service was scheduled for termination on April 21 but was not terminated until April 29).  Needless to say, site updates will continue to suffer until this injustice is corrected.  I'd apologize for the delays if I was really concerned about you being inconvenienced.  I'm really just upset about not having Internet service.  Damn those telephone people!

Where’s my DSL?

As you might have guessed, I'm still without Internet connectivity at home.  Having been assured of a speedy transfer of my DSL service from one residence to another, I'm heading into the end of the second week without the service and left wondering who thought they could pull this off in one week's time.  Telephone companies suck as we all know.  Still one should expect a modest sampling of honesty and due diligence from these people.  I won't name names on who the carrier is, but suffice it to say I'm not the least bit surprised that things are not happening as quickly as I was promised.  You'd think these people would have a workable process by now (having worked in the telecom industry for several years, I know it's possible).  As soon as the DSL is up and running, I intend to get back to my regular site update schedule.  Until then, I have to sneak in my updates when and where I find an available Internet connection.
