Rock dove strolling through the grass

[rock dove (Columba livia); an interesting tidbit: rock doves pair monogamously for life; another interesting tidbit: this apparently is the first bird species to have been domesticated sometime around 4500 BCE]

    Why? Because it’s monogamous? I don’t hate that; I just don’t think it’s biologically imperative for humans just as it isn’t for most species. If people could get that through their heads and realize it’s a social construct, they’d understand human nature a wee bit better.
