Hanging on, even when backlit

When I sit on the floor, Kako never fails to come over and lie down beside me.  But she does more than just place herself in a resting position near Daddy.  Oh no…  She has to hold on as though failing to do so means she will be swept away in some violent wind or other tumultuous event.  And what does she hold on to?  Me.  More specifically, my legs.  To wit:

If you look closely, you can see her claw stuck through my jeans.  I assure you I could feel it as it was also stuck in my leg.  But that’s okay because I understand her need to hang on just in case.

Although not in focus, that photo shows her leg still grasping mine.  In fact, the camera was resting next to her front paw.

And what’s up with that look?  One of the other cats was nearby, that much I remember, but I don’t think some terrible event was taking place that warranted that wide-eyed stare.  But I assure you of this: It goes well with the clawed grip she had on my leg.
