Vocabularium

I’ve known this word for so long I can no longer remember when or where I learned it.

adroit (a·droit): / uh DROIT /
adjective

(1) expert; skillful; cleverly ingenious or resourceful

[From French à droit meaning “by right, properly.” Use of the phrase to mean “skillful” evolved from the premise of doing something properly.]

Usage: I found her to be an adroit debater.
