There’s feline folly galore at Weekend Cat Blogging and Carnival of the Cats #155.  They’re bursting at the seams with kitty goodness.

This is a cool video showing what happens when a car is struck by lightning.  It also dispels the false assumption by many about how the tires can insulate the car from the electrical charge by blocking its path to the ground.  (Note: If lightning can travel from the clouds to the ground, a few inches of rubber won’t stop it traveling from the car to the ground.  Duh.)  Still, you are safe in a car if it gets hit as long as you follow a few simple rules.  See the video for the details and a demonstration.

STEREO Eclipse: “No human has ever witnessed a solar eclipse quite like this: NASA’s STEREO-B spacecraft was about a million miles from Earth last month when it photographed the Moon passing in front of the sun. The resulting movie looks like it came from an alien solar system.”  It’s definitely worth seeing.
