A bit more on the pet food recall

I’ll say it again: If you have dogs or cats, read the information on this recall, check the recall list at Menu Foods, check the food in your pantry or cupboard, and take immediate action if you have been feeding your little animal family any of this poisonous garbage.  Renal failure is serious and can be deadly, especially with the toxic substance at such high concentrations in the food.

Note that cats are more likely to die from it than dogs.  Felines are significantly more sensitive to the substance because of its impact on their kidneys.  That’s not to say dogs aren’t at risk or don’t deserve as much attention; it’s just that cats are more likely to die from it than their canine friends.

Meanwhile, I think it’s wise to boycott Menu Foods altogether and any brand which uses them.  Why?

It appears they tested the food long ago, had a significant number of the test group die, even had customers telling them their pets were dying from it, and yet they did not take action.  They left the poison on the market and failed to warn anyone about it.

Like Iams, a company that deliberately tortures and mutilates animals under the guise of caring for them, Menu Foods has demonstrated a complete lack of concern even when they knew their products were deadly.  That is unacceptable.  COMPLETELY! UNACCEPTABLE!

So read the list of brands that use them, and then stop buying any of those brands.  Complain to your brand if you have the gumption to do so.

If your brand is not listed, I recommend finding out who produces it and making sure it’s not Menu Foods.  If so, switch brands.  That company deserves to burn for what they’ve done.  I think everyone who works there and knew should be forced to eat the tainted food until it’s all consumed.  Let’s see how they like it.

And yes, I’m FUCKING MAD about it.  It’s disgusting.  It’s horrendous.  It’s animal cruelty, deception, endangerment, and a litany of other crimes all wrapped up in financial silence.  I hope they go bankrupt and out of business.  I hope everyone who knew winds up on the street…or worse.

Again, check the list, check your food, and take appropriate and immediate action.  The death toll has already risen since my previous post, and veterinarians and experts nationwide agree it’s apt to go much higher—especially because there’s already anecdotal evidence to suggest additional deaths can be linked to this poisonous concoction.

As for Menu Foods…  As Mom always says: “Cast your bread upon the water and after many days it shall return unto you.”  Now that the company’s bread is washing ashore, let’s hope they drown under the weight of it, crumble at the feet of their own carelessness and evil disregard, and pay the heavy price they deserve to pay.

[obviously I’m venting my frustration; I don’t wish physical harm on anyone; I do, however, wish financial and professional ruin on them—the people involved and the company itself; what they did is unthinkable and unforgivable]
