Okay, I’m sorry I said summer was a no-show

From NOAA:

INTENSIFYING HIGH PRESSURE WILL RESULT IN HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 100 DEGREES THROUGH THE WEEKEND. HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED IN URBAN AREAS OF THE METROPLEX. OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES IN THESE AREAS WILL ONLY DROP INTO THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S…PROVIDING LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE HEAT.

Yes, we’re now under a heat advisory.  This is more like a North Texas summer.  That doesn’t mean I missed it while it stayed away, and it certainly doesn’t mean I want it here now.

Here it is 8:00 pm and the temperature is still 94°F (34°C) with a dewpoint of 68°F (20°C).  That means the relative humidity is 43%.  How’s that for miserable?

There’s no trade between temperature and humidity misery, though, as lower humidity levels would simply mean higher temperatures.  It’s six of one and half-a-dozen of another.
