I find a certain amount of power in the solitude of photos like this. And when I say it's a long lonely walk, keep in mind this is at the foot of my favorite pier around the lake where I live. It's a place of meditation for me, a contemplative location wherein I find the whole of myself. There's nothing more exhilarating than to walk those creaking planks, to pass the reaching flora, and finally to arrive at a place above the water where both waves and wildlife dance beneath me, where the wind tugs at my clothes and spirits about me, where the world of man takes a backseat as the cosmos unfurls her blanket for me to rest upon where we might commune for a while. I’m with you on that. I find a certain amount of power in the solitude of photos like this.
