What a great story, Theriomorph! I love that Hercules sounds so much like Arco in that regard.

Thank you for the meme. More importantly, thank you for your kind thoughts. That part of Henry that still lives in me appreciates it more than you can know.

Yay!

Finally had time to catch up, and love your meme response.

For Arco, a story about Hercules, my wolf hybrid:

Hercules wanted more than anything to be a lap dog, and his theory was that if he acted VERY CASUAL, no one would notice until it was too late.

So he'd sit in front of the chair where you were, and look away, very ostentatiously.

Gradually, he'd get one paw up into your lap, then look away the other way, very ostentatiously. Something FASCINATING was always happening in some other direction, while he lifted a second paw up into your lap.

Then he'd look away somewhere else, and do my favorite bit: one of his back legs would creep up into your lap, leaving him standing on one foot while he gazed intently SOMEWHERE ELSE, very casually.

Finally, the remaining leg would be yanked up and he would deposit himself in the smallest possible ball of wolf in the smallest possible surface area of your lap, and shut his eyes tightly, and feign sleep.

Of course, when I was three, this usually resulted in a complete body crush of wolf pinning me to the couch while loudly faking sleep.

And I loved it.

Also sending huge love to Henry.
