In a ruling that sets a new and necessary precedent in law regarding privacy on the Internet, the First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals handed down a ruling against a web company which had tracked information about web surfers without their consent.  This ruling is a victory for privacy proponents like me since it clearly defines certain internet activities to be protected.
