There are severe thunderstorms here right now. It billows across the sky above me. Thunder approaches from all directions; the rain is intensifying. Lightning illuminates the sky and clouds and, in turn, most of the inside of my home. It has grown quite dark now, as if dusk came calling hours earlier than expected.
As the storm intensifies around me, continuing to approach from the west, I find comfort in its tumultuous embrace.
Torrential rain falls and seems a near impenetrable barrier filling the air. Even now, as I look toward the lake, it is as if a heavy fog has enveloped the land. I can now feel the thunder below my feet and hear it in the window panes. The sky is full of electricity as lightning dances and scurries about. Wind blows seemingly from and in all directions, pushing the rain into the most hidden of spaces.
This all seems quite peaceful. I cannot help but be intrigued by the weather, and thunderstorms bring with them an invigorating energy peripheral to any scientific interest. I welcome nature's demonstration like an old friend.
