We’re under a winter storm warning now and are expecting up to an inch of ice (freezing rain) followed by up to an inch of snow beginning tomorrow around noon or shortly thereafter. I’m lovin’ it!
I will also stay off of the roads if it gets icy. Texans can’t drive in sunshine and calm weather, so you can imagine how insane it gets when it rains. Now think about ice…
The current forecast says we’ll get freezing rain which will eventually mix with sleet and, by evening, will turn to snow which will continue overnight. Only fools predict the weather in Texas, so we won’t know what we’re going to get until it happens. Still, if we get ice and then snow, that’s the worst you can have so far as driving conditions are concerned.
I suspect the roads will be treacherous by rush hour Wednesday evening. Thursday morning will likely be the worst part.
With temperatures falling throughout the day and the precipitation starting in the morning, I think it’s going to be an interesting 24-36 hours here in North Texas.
I’m ready, and I’m looking forward to whatever winter throws at us.
