In a meeting of conservative Christians in Philadelphia to coordinate support for Alito’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, Baptist minister Herbert Lusk surprisingly shows true Christian ethics.
Lusk warned adversaries: “My friends, don’t fool with the church because the church has buried a million critics. And those the church has not buried, the church has made funeral arrangement for.”
Like the comment at Pharyngula that I mentioned, this is a clear demonstration of why Christianity has been the cause of more death and war throughout history than any other religion or belief system — or anything else. It is a stolen religion (stolen from the Muslims and Jews) and cannot stand up to criticism. There only response to critics is to destroy them, and this has most often been accomplished literally.
This lack of morality and inability to stand up to scrutiny is inherent in religion, but Christianity always best demonstrates it.
And let’s not forget that the last time states were run by Christianity, people got burned at the stake. Lusk’s comments prove that they’d like to reinstate that practice.
