When my aunt Jan died a few days ago, I also mentioned her husband, my uncle Charlie, was quite ill and hospitalized as he entered the final throes of his battle with Alzheimer’s.  He died this evening around 6:45 PM CST.  At least he’s no longer suffering.  One cannot help but see the coincidence in both deaths just a few days apart — one from ovarian cancer and one from complications related to Alzheimer’s.  The last several days have been rough for my family, I think, especially with my grandmother now hospitalized and in moderately poor condition.
