A computer programmer, Chris Taylor, wondered why his African grey parrot kept saying things like “I love you, Gary” and “Hiya, Gary” in his girlfriend’s voice. Once he saw his girlfriend’s embarrassed reaction to the bird’s squawking, however, it became abundantly clear: she was having an affair in their home and the bird was mimicking her conversations with her secret lover, including how she answered the phone when he called. Sadly, Chris had to get rid of both the girlfriend and Ziggy the bird because he wouldn’t stop repeating the amorous phrases of her affair (don’t worry; he found Ziggy a good home, although he should have kept him). How sad that she had to ruin both relationships for him.
