‘Tis the Ides of March

Today is the 2050th anniversary of Julius Caesar’s assassination.  “Et tu, Brute?”  Doesn’t it all just give you a stabbing pain?

Interestingly enough, taking a deep breath right now likely means you are inhaling at least one molecule from Caesar’s last exhalation as he questioned his closest friend, Brutus, for playing a part in his untimely demise.  Curious how this could be so?  I was, too, so I looked it up.  You’ll find this far more interesting than the stupid Pi Day twaddle that rampantly made the rounds yesterday in the most nerdy of circles.  NPR has a great summary of how the chemistry of it all actually works and can be applied to anyone from long ago.  Taking a deep breath today means you’re getting a lot of input from many who came before.

As they say, commemorate Caesar by taking a deep breath.  Oh, and “[b]eware the Ides of March.”
