lament into joy all your tears
lead your heart’s follow
when filled find it hollow
live in each moment your years

rise above plains your mountains
dance you like birds in the air
time has no answers
regrets are like cancers
wound not your soul with despair

splash on your brow true discernment
I beseech you never stop learning
for nature abounds
and cosmos resounds
living this life is your earning

sleep not in anger or sadness
seek not just shadow of night
bereft is your soul
if this be your goal
we must needs the dark and the light

forlorn and together you master
survival requires only one
for two in your heart
leave room when apart
plead circles of love when it’s done

desires be both gross and subtle
indulge them every last one
yet hurt no other
lest spirits you smother
living begets more than fun

cast upon stone all your doubt
fear be the enemy of living
walk in the fire
climb every pyre
success is getting and giving

inflict upon others compassion
betray not your heart’s final beat
bliss in your soul
and death just a stroll
along the path not defeat
