So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu, and goodbye

Saying goodbye to the place where I’ve worked for five years:

I wanted to take a moment to tell you I am leaving my position on Friday, March 24.  I intend to take some time off and enjoy life, work on some writing projects that are rattling around in my brain, and ultimately see where the road takes me.  I think sometimes exploring the question is far more important than knowing the answer.

I can’t adequately express my appreciation for your support, guidance, encouragement, and assistance throughout the nearly five years that I’ve been here.  You’re all loyal, dedicated and caring people who have made my tenure gratifying and educational.  Working with you has been a true joy.

Thank you for helping to shape an important part of my career and life.  I wish each of you continued success in all your endeavors.  I’ll miss such a great team of coworkers and friends.

My sincerest hope is that you find the opportunity to take a risk, to set sail without a map while letting the currents and winds be your guide, and to see where the world takes you and what circumstance has in store.  Let the journey itself be reason enough for your travels.

I’ve included my personal contact information below if you would like to stay in touch.  In addition, if all goes well, perhaps in a year or two you’ll see my name in your local bookstore.  I promise not to use a pseudonym.

Thank you.  And good luck!
