Thanks for lunch, xocobra

I had to take the car back to have my new tire looked at.  Since it was replaced about two weeks ago, it’s required air every other day or so.  I didn’t think that was a good sign.  Sadly, we found the rim was cracked after finally succumbing to the pressures of use.  Who knows what weakened it in the first place.  So, $400 later (yes, another ouch, and I find it amazing that I seem to be spending more money now that I’m not working…), I’m back on the road and feeling much safer.

Because I take my car to a place far north of here for all of its service, I was “in the neighborhood” to see xocobra at lunch.  I got to enjoy his company while scarfing a burger and some beer, plus I got to see his new vehicle (and I do so apologize for pointing out its aesthetic faults, dear friend, but my gay gene never takes a holiday and demands presentational perfection!).  It was a great visit.  I’m quite happy to see he’s doing well given the trauma he and his suffered recently by way of their emotional roller coaster.  I adore him, of course, and I miss that beautiful and enticing smile when it’s subjugated by greater forces.  Having a good visit with him today gave me the chance to confirm that life is moving forward and has not otherwise overwhelmed him.

Again, xocobra, thanks for lunch.  It’s aways a pleasure to see you.
