Remember when the FBI dropped its investigation of the NSA domestic spying scandal because the NSA would not grant them clearance? Guess what? The FCC won’t investigate because they say they can’t possibly get clearance. Surprised? I’m not. They didn’t even try given what happened to the FBI and the simple fact that the FCC (as well as every other agency) is under the thumb of Dubya et al. I think I’m going to be sick.
I asked how you’d spend your $30 savings on the recent $70 billion tax bill signed into law by King George. Now we learn it raised taxes on kids. How pathetic. And to think Bush promised in 1999 to never raise taxes if elected to the presidency. I guess he meant that for adults only.

Don’t panic, but there’s new evidence of human-to-human transmission of the H5N1 strain of avian flu. As the article points out, we already have evidence of this transmission vector from cases in Thailand. This is very important information, and the situation requires serious inquiry and monitoring.

[UPDATE 5/24/2006 @ 2:32 PM CDT]: Note that the avian flu information actually relates to a “human to human to human” transmission of the virus, an event that indicates an added layer of exposure beyond the original infection and those infected from that person. I should have specified that originally as it’s an important aspect of the story as opposed to a simpler “human to human” event.
