I’m heading off to the grocery store shortly to stock up on essentials (including wildlife treats). Thankfully, I don’t have a very long list of things to buy, so I expect it won’t take that long.
With the resupply mission complete, it’s back home to work on finances a bit.
And then I’ll do a bit of job hunting. Joy…
Finally, I’ll do more work on the new web sites for xocobra and Mom. I got quite a bit accomplished on those yesterday but still have plenty to do before they’re ready to rock and roll on the intarweb.
I’ll probably take a bit of a break this afternoon to watch a movie or two, but then it’s back to the grind with cleaning cat boxes, brushing the cats, putting in some quality play time, and otherwise staying inside to avoid the unbearable heat under which we’ve been suffering for too long.
And yes, I know it’s summer in Texas, and I know that means it’s supposed to be hot. But give me a break! We’re talking hellish, not just hot. It’s oppressive and deadly out there. I mean, who needs 112°F (44°C)? Not us, and yet we’ve had that more than once in the last nine days of >100°F (>38°C) heat. I find this weather completely unnecessary.
Oh, and it’s humid to boot. Sadly, despite a precipitation deficit of more than 25 inches (64 centimeters) for the last 18 months, that humidity isn’t helping us much. I would say not at all were it not true that humid air does aid in retarding wildfires and the circumstances that enable them. I suppose that’s some consolation.
Add to all of this that I don’t feel swell at the moment. I think it’s the heat if I were to take my best guess. I just feel drained, and my stomach is quite unruly.
So, all of that to say this will be a quiet day on the blogfront. I’m not in the mood to be serious or to work very hard on anything. You can expect some photos, perhaps an open thread, and maybe a brainless entry or two, but even that would be stretching it.
