I’ve had days like this.  They usually occur after a night of too much fun.

adjective

(1) lacking vigor, character, vitality, or strength, especially from overindulgence and/or overrefinement; decadent; degenerate
(2) exhausted of energy or vigor; worn out; weak
(3) unable to produce or reproduce; no longer fertile; sterile; barren

[From Latin effeta from effetus meaning “exhausted from bearing (young),” from Latin fetus meaning “fruitful, breeding.”]

Usage: Partygoers throughout the evening whispered in hushed tones about the garish house and effete hostess.
