When there’s only one sunbeam

With cold temperatures over the last few days, The Lovers, Grendel and Kako, took advantage of whatever sunlight they could find when they could find it.  In this case, Kako got to it first and took the best spot, but Grendel wasn’t going to let his woman enjoy all that warmth by herself.  That’s why you can see him hidden behind that JLo booty of hers (I hadn’t realized she could hide a whole cat back there!):

And for a slightly different perspective showing that the comfy spots miraculously were found only where the sun was shining through the windows:

Not a care in the world

When it’s time for a catnap, Grendel knows how to do it right.  First, find the right spot—preferably on the bed with a bit of sunshine.

Once the right spot is located and tested, stretch out a bit and try to look like you’ve been sleeping for hours.

Finally, a good stretch followed by dangling paws is a sure sign the right spot has indeed been located—and a restful afternoon is sure to follow.

Ah, life is good.

Inoffensive glance

There’s something about the look on Grendel‘s face in this picture.  I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s as though he’s trying to look innocent.  Trying perhaps a bit too ernestly.

Truth be told, he wasn’t doing anything wrong.  I think the look came from my sudden turn in the chair in order to get the picture.  He was probably taken aback by the quick move and felt it possible he’d inadvertently done something wrong.

No harm, though.  He got plenty of lovin’ for always usually being a good boy.  In fact, he’s least likely to cause trouble, although sometimes he stirs up a hornet’s nest when he asserts his alpha status.  Thus is life with a pride of felines.
