Police station or torture chamber?

I tried for an hour to develop some kind of summary for an article I found on the BBC News site.  No matter how hard I tried, everything I came up with lessened the impact of the article.  I can not add to the this experience in any way, and my own attempt to write about it would detract from how it made me feel.  When you read it — and you should read it — see if you can ignore that chill that runs down your spine or the shiver that quietly passes over your body as you realize what has been discovered.  See if you can ignore the reaction of local residents in Abu al Khasib to what should be considered a simple and empty building.  It's a police station in Iraq, but the description of the place tells you there was never a desire "to protect and serve." You can read the article here.
