The “War on Christmas”

All the whiny little religious zealots who are bitching and moaning that there’s a War on Christmas™ can just kiss my ass.  This is not a religious nation despite your best efforts.  Christmas is actually a holiday stolen from the pagans by Christians who desperately wanted to compete with the winter solstice events.  There’s nothing religious about any aspect of Christmas except the invalid and laughable premise that it represents the birth of Jesus.  Any historian can tell you, based on the facts and not mythology, that December 25 is certainly not reconcilable with biblical accounts of his birth or the historical records from that time.

Was Jesus born under a Christmas tree?  Was Santa one of the three wise men?  Better yet, was he the secret father of Jesus much to Joseph’s chagrin?  Did Mary & Joseph ride into Bethlehem on a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer?  Most importantly, I’m quite sure the Bible makes an exclusion in the “Thou shalt not lie” department with regards to Christmas, Santa Claus, where the gifts come from, etc.  Anyway…

I’m tired of all the pedantic babbling about “Happy Holidays” versus “Merry Christmas” and every other aspect of the fundamentalists’ desire to play exclusionary holidays.  There are more than just Christians in this country, so would it not be prudent to admit that the holiday season is full of all kinds of beliefs and that a tolerant and inclusive nation would recognize that?

So shut the fuck up already!  Oh, and read this for the truth about Christmas and the general holiday season.  Sorry, but you can’t argue with the truth.  If there’s a War on Christmas™, it’s because it’s a false holiday that was stolen from so many other places.  Perhaps the original owners of your celebration want it back now.
