Here’s some common sense for Congress: require them to be familiar with the bills they vote on.  Duh!  To think we have to consider passing a law to force them to read the nation’s business before acting on it.

It’s the 28th Skeptics’ Circle.

The Italian high court believes rape is not as serious if the victim isn’t a virgin.  According to the judge, non-virgins are not harmed as much as virgins are by the crime.  WTF!?

I like the way she thinks.  This is required reading, and it’s short enough to hold the interest of dimwitted people like me.

I can’t believe a major newspaper would print something that advocates ignorance by saying algebra is unnecessary and never used outside of school.  Unbelievable and disappointing.

Late last year we discovered that the Justice Department found Tom DeLay’s congressional redistricting of Texas violated the Voting Rights Act.  Now they will defend it before SCOTUS.  Huh?

While I still do not see solid evidence of a causal relationship between human activity and global warming, I also can not deny that a link exists.  Circumstantial evidence suggests we might be contributing to it, but even that remains to be seen as we don’t even clearly understand how the climate works.  Still, there is no doubt in my mind that our climate is changing: the loss of Greenland’s glacial ice is accelerating and has doubled in the last decade.
