Are we going to attack Iran?

More and more our war-mongering, death-hungry administration is preaching that Iran is out of control, uttering much of the same rhetoric that preceded the invasion of Iraq, and Dubya’s (et al) “all options are on the table” presentations have already started.  Great Britain is talking of such things, so you know it’s a sure bet that America has already secretly voiced such a plan as we know Britons wouldn’t consider it alone.

Aren’t we stretched far enough already?  Have we not pissed off the Arab world enough?  Should we not allow the international functions to work their magic this time instead of rushing in with guns blazing?  I realize Iran poses a risk, especially in light of their nuclear program which can not be confirmed as entirely innocent, and I also realize they may be playing a part in the Iraq insurgency, yet I am convinced it would be disastrous to attempt yet another invasion and war considering the shape our own country is in, the backlash we would suffer from the Arab and international communities, and the horrible results we’ve seen in Iraq thus far.  Why must our president push to attack anything he can’t control otherwise?

I fear for our country.  I fear for our well-being and security.  I fear that any such attack would simply fuel the fires of terrorism we claim to be fighting (yet, surreptitiously and otherwise, we are actually feeding the craze and providing the convoluted justifications for it).
