Flat tire

So much for being gone.  A screw to the rear driver’s tire brings to an end any chance of escapism with which I believed myself blessed.  Now without a spare tire (and thanks to Lexus I have a full-sized spare, so I don’t worry so much about being caught with a flat), I am forced to return to my base of operations (a.k.a. home) so that I might get the flat tire replaced and thereby ensure I have the extra tire available should it be needed.

So I am home again, certainly having traveled not very far before this tragedy beset me, and now I will consider one more little trip to the great beyond prior to my obligation to Rick beginning Friday next, not to mention other matters which require my attention this coming weekend.  Despite whatever might happen before then, I plan to engage in some additional excursions 12-14 days hence.  Until then, only dreams may tell.  Consider, however, that Devil’s Sinkhole, the Austin bat colony, adventures near and far, and whatever other trouble I can find await me in no more than two weeks, all things being equal and all expectations met, of course.

In the meantime, I have plenty to do this week, including taking the car in to get the spare tire replaced, errands galore, chores, reading, writing, spending time with my children, and many tasks which continue to pile up on my list of things to do.  Ugh.
