A question about vocabulary

I already do a “quote of the day” thingy with the Random Thoughts.  Since I’ve been accused of being overly condescending with my vocabulary and use of excessively snobbish words, even being told I’m trying to impress people with my vocabulary, I’m wondering if it would be at all welcomed were I to start a “word of the day” thingy.  Like the Random Thoughts, it would be simple: a word, it’s definition, and an example of its use.  I’d only draw from my own vocabulary (which, I’ll warn you, is extensive and always growing).

What say ye, poppets?  Would it be yet another example of my arrogance or would it be an interesting exercise in exploring another aspect of the plethora of useless information stuck in my head?  I don’t want to waste my time with it if it’s going to be yet another point of contention.  Nevertheless, I’ve always been one who likes to share what I know and help others learn, and perhaps—just perhaps—this would be a gratuitous way to do that while offering you an opportunity to pick up a new word or two along the way.

Don’t hold back.  Say what you think and I’ll go from there.
