Carnival of the Cats #137 has a couple of fun photos and links to a whole lot more.  Head on over and check it out.

You absolutely must go read Mrs. Betty Bowers’ Words of Christian Concern for Ted Haggard’s Delicious Disgrace.  It’s hysterical!

Rainbow Over Springfield, Colorado is a stunning photograph of a horizon-to-horizon rainbow.  Look at the hi-res version to get the full effect of the lightning strike that seems to come from the rainbow itself.

Sunday’s Astronomy Picture of the Day shows the aftermath of a galaxy collision.  Check out the larger version to more clearly see the now separated galaxies and the effects it had.

While you’re there, take a look at The Ghostly Tail of Comet SWAN.  Very cool.

Grand Rounds 3.7 is presented as an entertaining narrative, so don’t miss the medical blogosphere’s best offerings.

An Evangelical Identity Crisis: A very interesting, if not long, discussion of America’s Talebangelist movement.  It’s worth a read.

Hatred (of Gays) Unites Jerusalem’s Feuding Faiths.  Sounds about right.  Hate is all they have left to preach, but they’re going a lot further than just talk.  “For some of their followers, the issue is worth spilling blood over: An unknown extremist Jewish group pasted up signs announcing a $500 ‘reward’ for every gay man or woman killed during the parade, which is scheduled for Nov. 10. Several ultra-orthodox rabbis have vowed to mobilize more than 100,000 protesters to shut down Jerusalem on the day of the parade, and police warn that some groups plan to pelt the marchers with apples jagged with razor blades.”  So that’s the compassionate god-like behavior we’re supposed to see as morally superior so we’ll lovingly embrace it, huh?

Think about thinking and being with Philosophers’ Carnival #38.
