Which Serenity character are you?

Posted on May 19, 2007 by jason

I finally watched “Serenity” this week.  In honor of that, I felt this an appropriate time to do this internet quiz.

First, the movie: I liked it.  I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it; I just liked it.  It was fun and interesting.  Much to my surprise, it was much better than the original series Firefly (IMHO).  Do I think it was worth all the hoopla that took place before it was released to theaters?  No.  Do I think it’s good entertainment wrapped around a typically interesting Joss Whedon story?  Absolutely yes!  But it won’t win any awards and it won’t be remembered decades from now.  “Casablanca” and “Gone With the Wind” it ain’t.

Second, the quiz: I never watched the series enough to know the characters with any degree of depth.  Is this accurate?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  I do like being the captain, though, so that works well enough for me.

Your results:
You are Malcolm Reynolds (Captain)

Malcolm Reynolds (Captain)
75%
Dr. Simon Tam (Ship Medic)
60%
River (Stowaway)
60%
Zoe Washburne (Second-in-command)
55%
Wash (Ship Pilot)
55%
Kaylee Frye (Ship Mechanic)
45%
Inara Serra (Companion)
45%
Jayne Cobb (Mercenary)
40%
Derrial Book (Shepherd)
40%
A Reaver (Cannibal)
25%
Alliance
25%

I have to say, I did enjoy the series as well as the movie. Perhaps not the best ever, but above much of the network dreck.

Jason, I think the results fit you perfectly.

My results were Simon Tam. I’m not sure about that. I REALLY wanted to be Inara. Imagine that.

  2. So you’re the doc, eh? If I knew the character better than I do, maybe I’d know if that’s appropriate or not.

Keep in mind I never watched the series much. I think I saw a total of five or six episodes.
