Pardon the day of silence

Yesterday unintentionally became a day of silence due to work.  I simply remained too busy after I got home to do more than keep up with the emergencies.

What I’ve learned this week is that being on call for this company can be a steady workload.  But it also can be feast or famine.  There were days when I had few problems to deal with for half the day, only to be overwhelmed with call after call during the other half of the day.

Overall, however, it wasn’t too bad.  I hear it can be terribly disastrous, but it can also be a walk in the park.

Today’s my last day, though.  The torch moves to someone else for the weekend.

And that’s a good thing.  I’m going to the family farm tomorrow and will be out of pocket all day.  Handling work would be somewhat inconvenient at best (actually, I wouldn’t go to East Texas if I was on call).

Whether or not I have time to schedule some things for tomorrow remains to be seen.  I’ll do my best.
