    • The funny thing is, Mary, these birds nest in Dallas and it’s easy to get close to them (relatively speaking). A good 400mm lens is all I used. They join several tropical and neotropical species by coming to a spot quite near downtown and nesting there–thousands of nests by many, many species. It’s amazing!

  2. The colors on the ibis’ face are quite dramatic. I really like the detail in the photograph, especially around the face and the eye.

    • Thank you, Amar! This is probably one of the most “exotic” species that breeds and raises young in the heart of Dallas. They’re quite photogenic. Personally, I’m always entranced with that crystal blue eye…
