Penn & Teller excoriate the bible in a most heretical and hysterical way.  This is an excellent video to watch (almost 30 minutes, so be prepared).  Based on fact, historical evidence, and most importantly the bible itself, they do an excellent job of clarifying precisely why the book is a troubling foundation for religion.
