Is this spot taken?

Vazra lies near the patio doors soaking up a wee bit of afternoon sunshine when Grendel appears on the scene.

Then Grendel lies down, careful not to disturb the black Persian who does look to be sleeping comfortably, and finally turns to look at Vazra as if to ask, “Excuse me, but is this spot taken?”
