If you’ve looked at Loki’s page, you’ve probably noticed that one of his nicknames is Mr. Mouth. Loki got this name because he talks at you rather than with you — and he doesn’t take "no" for an answer. In fact, Loki’s vocal habits can be one of the deadliest weapons of mass destruction when he gets cranked up.
As an offer of proof of this very thing, take a look at these pictures of Loki. They were all taken over the course of the last seven (7) years. Notice anything consistent?
I've finally gotten through the pictures of Loki and have updated his gallery. Take a look at the highlights before heading over to see all the new pictures.
I've finally done it! Yes, I finally got through all of the new pictures and updated Loki's gallery. He was beginning to hurt me on a regular basis because I hadn't gotten to it yet, so you can imagine my relief now that's it's completed.
As with all of The Kids, Loki loves his attention. Here he is prancing around the kitchen hoping I'll give him some love.
As I've explained before, Loki and Kazon will always join me in the bathroom when I'm in there. Every morning this is what I can look forward to while I'm shaving, brushing my teeth, taking a shower, or whatever I'm doing. You can tell he's a very helpful boy.
While he was lying on the bathroom counter, I crouched down to take a picture of him from below. I thought it came out well (he's very photogenic regardless of what he's doing).
When Loki plays, he plays for keeps. I was playing with him in the living room when I tried to pause long enough to take a picture. He thought the pause was unacceptable and promptly attacked my arm and leg to let me know play time was not over.
While still playing in the living room, I pulled my hand away so I could take a picture. Again letting me know that this was not acceptable, he promptly threw himself at my hand. As you can see, that's precisely what I got a picture of.
Loki is adamant when it's time for attention. If you don't give it to him freely, he'll take it by force. That includes grabbing your hand and pulling it to himself so he can rub against it. I happened to get this perfect shot of him doing just that.
Oh, and he can practically walk across the room on his hind feet, so seeing him like this is not unusual. He's the only cat in the house who is very comfortable walking upright or standing still on his hind legs to check something out.
This is undoubtedly my favorite picture of Loki. I was playing with the various settings on the camera and got a beautiful natural light close-up of his face. Now, Loki knows he's beautiful, but I have to admit that he looks very good in this picture. Notice the details in his eye color. You can also see his one white eyebrow (the other one is black).

And for those of you who enjoy the not-so-presentable pictures we often find thrown in with the good stuff, here's a picture of Loki you won't find in the gallery. Kazon has been on my case recently for not updating his gallery, so I sat down today and posted some new pictures of him. Hopefully now he'll leave me alone (not likely!). Read on for details.
Yes, I'm still going through all of the new pictures I have. I've just finished going through the pictures of Kazon and have posted the best ones in his gallery.
Kazon is a very happy cat. He loves to play with the catnip toys like the cigar he has in this picture. The funny thing is that he tends to roll around and play with it only momentarily before he decides he loves it — and begins kissing it like he's doing in this picture.
When I sit down (anywhere), Kazon will eventually end up in my lap. In this picture, I had just sat down to watch the news when Kazon noticed my lap was available for occupation.
As I've mentioned before, Kazon loves to help me in the bathroom. I had grabbed the camera to take some pictures of him in there when I snapped this one looking up at him. I thought it turned out well.
When Kazon wants to get my attention, he'll reach out and gently touch my face or shoulder (that's if the crying didn't make me stop and take notice). Despite the talons you see in this picture, he's quite gentle and never hurts me.
This was taken while I was playing with the zoom on the camera. Although he wasn't doing anything exciting, I thought it turned out to be a rather unique and cool picture of him.
As I've said before, everything in the house is community property. A simple cup of water seems to be the favorite with all of The Kids. This is Kazon getting a refreshing drink from Daddy's water. You can also see Grendel lounging on the couch to the right and Kako passing by beneath the table on the left.
When I'm sitting at the computer, the keyboard tray tends to keep my lap from being available, so my shoulders become the next best option. Kazon is the only cat in the house who will actually sleep up there. He simply wraps himself around my neck with his head on one side and his back legs on the other.
I was petting Kazon in the kitchen and pulled my hand away to snap this picture. Can you tell he's a happy cat?
As I mentioned above, Kazon will gently touch my face or shoulders to get my attention. Here's a great shot of him letting me know he's there and he loves me (more like letting me know he's there and is expecting some attention).
This is truly classic Kazon. No matter where I am or what I'm doing, if I sit down, this is what I can look forward to. Kazon will come lie in my lap with his face as close to mine as he can get. He'll lie there and look at me in this entirely loving way until he falls asleep. Part of it is pure love — plain and simple — while another piece of the equation is that Daddy's lap is the safest place in the house.
By the way, that’s Loki‘s back you see on the armrest. He wanted nothing to do with the disgusting display taking place behind him.

I finally got a chance to get another gallery update done. This time it's Kako's turn for a makeover. Read on to see the highlights.
I'm still working through the pictures I have and am updating the galleries as I get a chance. I just finished going through all of Kako's pictures and have put plenty of new pictures in her gallery.
Kako likes to get on the refrigerator and the cabinets above it. Almost every time she gets up there, it's to get attention. Once I go over there, she'll eventually jump down to my shoulders for some up-close and personal attention.
Here she's dancing on the refrigerator. Dancing is what we call it when she kneads while standing up. It looks like she's shuffling her feet, so it must be dancing!
Kako and Grendel are the only two who actually sleep in the kitty hammock. Here she is hoping to be undisturbed.
Kako likes to sleep on my lap when I'm sitting on the couch. She normally attaches herself to your legs with her claws until she's sure you're not going to throw her to the ground (referred to around here as being evicted).
When we first started using the fireplace, Kako hated it. She would run from the fire and would go as far out of her way as possible in order to avoid being near it. Well, she eventually learned to like the fireplace and to enjoy roasting herself in front of it. Here she is in her favorite position (on her back) in front of the fire.
Once again in front of the fireplace, this is one of those pictures where it's difficult for me to know for certain what it is that she's doing. You see, Kako likes to look at herself in reflective surfaces (mirrors, glass, etc.). I can't decide if she's enjoying the warmth of the fire or if she's looking at that supa-fine kitty looking back at her in the glass.
Here she is sleeping in the tube at the top of the cat castle. She and her brother Kazon are the only two who will sleep in the tube.

Here's another update to The Kids' gallery. This time it's Kazon and Loki — The Buds — who get their own gallery along with a few new pictures.
Kazon and Loki have been buddies since we adopted The Twins (Kako and Kazon). Loki took it upon himself to try to teach Kazon how to be truly evil, but he didn't realize that it's nearly impossible to teach Kazon anything.
Despite that significant hurdle, Loki and Kazon became quick friends and spend much time hanging out — either playing or sleeping or grooming each other or any number of other activities that they share.
Now there's a new gallery specifically for pictures of The Buds.
You'll find some new pictures in their gallery. For example, Kazon and Loki always help me when I'm in the bathroom. Regardless of what I'm doing, they'll both be in there with me trying to assist.
You can undoubtedly imagine this isn't always the activity most conducive to actually accomplishing anything, but it is time together with The Kids and something I would not trade for the world.
That's a photo of Loki and Kazon coming out of the bathroom. In this particular instance they had been playing in the cabinets under the sink.
If I'm in the bathroom but not in the shower, this is where you can find Loki and Kazon — on the counter helping. Whether it's brushing my teeth or shaving or anything else, they'll be there to provide whatever assistance I might need.
